I was contacted by Richard & Melanie from Bearsted in Maidstone, Kent who wanted to capture portraits of their children George, Katie & their pampered pet schnauzer dog Lilly. She had spent the previous day at the groomers, doesn't she look gorgeous!
Now most people always say never work with children & animals but I find it all part of the challenge. When children bring their pets along to the studio or on location they always seem way more relaxed & photographing the bond is always an enjoyable experience. Let's face it pet do become a major part of our lives, so why not record the moment.
During our pre session chat Richard & Melanie advised that they wanted to captrue a group shot in black & white of the children & George's beloved pet dog & then a colour portrait of just the children to make their final selections from. The family had decided before the session that they wanted to have the images presented as large acrylic panels for their lounge & kitchen walls.
Here are the results of the session.
The session lasted a little over an hour, producing a mixed & varied variety of images for Richard & Melanie to choose from, including outfit changes & time to play with Lilly, who was a little superstar on the day. I think I have made a new friend!
If you would like to book your very own pet or family photography session please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.
